This iconic piece of 20th century space age design is an Electrohome Apollo 860 record player with original glove speakers manufactured in Canada in 1970. The Apollo is an 8 transistor solid state player considered a high end state of the art are to for its time.
It was designed to celebrate the Apollo moon missions in the 60s and 70s and is featured in The Museum of Arts and Design. This is a true collectors item.
Plays 16, 33 (LP), 45 and 78 rpm records. Also has tape inputs so you can hook up a Bluetooth adapter and stream music from your phone or computer.
Due to its age, several capacitors in the amplifier section have deteriorated and will need to be replaced to restore the unit to full playable condition. A schematic diagram detailing the required parts is included and is located inside the spun aluminium base.
The built in BSR (Birmingham Sound Reproducers) turntable is fully functional and the original globe speakers work fine.
